Last day

This is a picture of Esme and me on our last appointment at Alternative Arts tattoo shop. Esme is going to a new shop next month with one of the other tattooists at Alternative Arts. I think it’s been about 2 years I’ve been going pretty much every month to see her to get my ink done. Can’t wait to see the new place. πŸ™‚

Playing with B&W

Thought I’d play with some of the filters on the camera.

Save Our NHS march

I was in London today for the Save Our NHS march. I went on my own as a) nobody at work had heard about it and were busy and b) I prefer to do these kinds of things on my own. πŸ™‚

So it was my first weekend off in over a month and I was really looking forward to going to London. I’ve always liked going there and I did love living there many years ago. So I was quite excited on the train. The great thing about how I look is how it dissuades most people from either sitting next to me or speaking to me. I view this as a positive πŸ™‚ The dreads, facial piercings and the tattoos definitely keep most at arms length.

So I arrived at Euston and found hundreds of people gathering for the march. I mean hundreds. So I picked up with the CND crowd, they had cool placards.

There was a lady handing out old style surgical masks with a hands off our NHS message printed on the front. When I was walking along with the mask on some guy jumped out in front of me and took my photo. Weird huh?

At the end of the march I saw this cool drumming group and there was this older lady who was dancing along to them. She was really shaking her money maker. Really cool lady.

It was a pretty cool day. My feet were killing by the end of the day. But I had such a great time.

Bug fingers

I have bitten the bullet and gone and gotten my index fingers tattooed! I can’t believe I’ve done it. Seriously, when you can’t hide the tattoos anymore I feel I’ve crossed the line. It’s cool though. I’ve had both positive and negative feedback, as usual. But I love them!

Christmas t-shirts

Another backbreaking shift. But the fun part of the shift, and it needed it, was we were allowed to wear Christmas themed t-shirts! How fun is that?! Here’s me and my colleague Robyn. This is us at the end of the shift. We literally were out the door 2 minutes later. Hence the smiling faces!

Ink update

I have had some more colour added to my arm yesterday. Feeling happy but sore. I have been adding the usual savlon and aloe vera to it which helps.

Tired but happy

I need my makeup today. I have done two blocks of nights this last two weeks with a couple of day shifts thrown in the middle of the two blocks. My rosaceae has come storming back. πŸ™ Β But on a lighter note, I am off for my first colouring in session on my arm today. 😊

Tired, so very tired

Three days of 12.5 hour shifts… The bags under my eyes have turned into rucksacks. πŸ˜• But at least my dreads are still keeping me happy. My new headband which is from @kodamalife(http://etsy.me/2czOc4H). It’s really comfortable and I love the colour and pattern. I bought 2 and the other one is reversible. Katerina made them herself and the quality is outstanding. Such a lovely lady too. 😊

More ink!

So today Ray and I have been getting some more ink work done. Very exciting for Ray as he has started on a new project. When we arrived we had a clue that it was going to be an Art Nouveau piece and it would be based upon the work of Mucha. Ray had shown Esme examples of Mucha’s work that he really liked and left it with her. So here we are with most of the outline done and we are delighted with what Esme has done. The picture on the right is the Mucha which has inspired this tattoo.

My ink work was a continuation of the work on my sleeve. I’m absolutely delighted with what she has done.
